Explosion hits Lagos on Christmas eve
The frequency at which explosions happen within the streets and major areas of Lagos State Nigeria is currently on a high just as we have recorded another one today, on the eve of the Christmas celebration.
There was a pipeline explosion in the early hours of Friday in Lagos.
The incident occurred at about 1am at the New London area of Baruwa in Ayobo Ipaja.
Bola Shobowale, Chairman of Ayobo-Ipaja Local Council Development, confirmed the blast.
It is unclear if there are casualties or major injuries. Lagos authorities are expected to provide updates.
Emergency responders and security agencies have cordoned off the scene.
