Thomas Tuchel seems to have replacements for Chelsea as they suffer injury blow ahead of Liverpool tie.

Thomas Tuchel may have come up with an ideal plan ahead of Sunday’s Carabao Cup final clash against Liverpool, despite losing two major stars to injury on Tuesday.

It was a successful night for Chelsea as they took full control of their Champions League knockout tie with a 2-0 win against Lille at Stamford Bridge.

Kai Havertz and Christian Pulisic were amongst the goals, but the result was slightly masked by the injuries to both Mateo Kovacic and Hakim Ziyech early into the second half.

Both limped down the tunnel which made for worrying scenes, as Chelsea are just five days away from their Carabao Cup final clash against Liverpool at Wembley.

However, Thomas Tuchel was impressed with what he saw against the French Champions, and the Chelsea boss may have stumbled across the perfect plan ahead of Sunday’s encounter.

It was a worrying sight for Chelsea fans as the man in form Ziyech followed Kovacic down the tunnel in quick succession as the Blues endured a nightmare start to the second half, with Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Saul Niguez replacing the pair.

Thankfully for Chelsea, although they’ve suffered trying to cover injured full-backs Reece James and Ben Chilwell, they are blessed in the midfield area, and Jorginho wasn’t even called into action off the bench.

Joining him on the bench was Romelu Lukaku, as the striker was dropped by Tuchel after a game to forget on the weekend against Crystal Palace, but Havertz flourished in the central role at his expense.
